One exception you might want to consider is Sharks Underwater Grill at Sea World. I usually just move on or, in some cases, call the restaurant and ask if a current menu with prices could be emailed. Speaking of prices, you'll find some of the restaurants don't have prices on their online menus. If they like it, perhaps they'll return some other time and pay full price. This is an opportunity to show customers who may not be familiar with your restaurant what you can do. I'm not so concerned with different portion sizes, though many of the participating restaurants serve the full portion. And I'm especially wary of those that have menus with dishes not on the regular menu at all. I think it's unwise for restaurants to substantially change their menus for the promotion. Take a closer look at the Cioppino on the MagDinMoMu - no lobster, an ingredient on the regular menu. It's Crab Cake appetizer is listed at $18 retail, and the Cioppino is $45. Now let's take a look at deep blu, another seafood restaurant. The Huevos Bulla are regularly $10.50 and the Churrasco Moruno is $24. None of my research came up with a restaurant offering less than the $35 charge, though Bulla, the Spanish restaurant in Winter Park came close. But given that they're usually priced at $10, I think we can declare Urban Tide a good Magical Dining Month bargain. Urban's desserts are on another page and, curiously, neither of the Magical Dining desserts are on the regular menu. Even if you were the worst student in math class, you can see right away that just those two courses total more than $35, even before dessert. And the Scottish Loch Duarte Salmon Oscar is regularly $32. In this case, you'll see that the Southern Fried Grouper Cheek is a $15 appetizer. Now go to the restaurant's own webpage - Visit Orlando is nice enough to give you a direct link - and compare the rack-rate, a la carte prices. But just about everything at Urban Tide is terrific, and this is a pretty good lineup. If nothing sounds good to you, you might as well move on. You'll see the available options for each of the three courses of the Magical Dining Month Menu, or MagDinMoMu. Let's take a look at our friends at Urban Tide, for instance. RusTeak of College Park, for instance, is listed under Winter Park and North, while K Restaurant, also in College Park, is under the nebulous heading "Surrounding Areas." (They've got K on the checklist under Downtown, which is where it - and RusTeak - should be.)īack at the MagDinMo website, click on the listing for one of your choices. You'll notice that the restaurants are grouped geographically, though some of the designations are odd. As you go through the list of restaurants, put a checkmark next to the ones you want to take a closer look at. This year, Visit Orlando has provided a downloadable checklist. (Hey, I like saving money, too.) I also look for the restaurants that I know to have higher price points. I'm looking for newcomers, places I'm going to want to visit for a review anyway. (Watch the video below.)įirst, I go to the official MagDinMo website and look over the list of restaurants. Here's how I go about choosing which Magical Dining Month restaurants I'll visit. So you're going to have to do some research to narrow your decision. Stop arguing, you just can't do it.) Also up this year is the cost, $35, two bucks more than 2016, and they're not even paying Emeril Lagasse an endorsement fee this year. So even with 38 days, you're not going to be able to visit them all. More than 100 restaurants are participating this year, up from 65 in 2016, including for the first time some well-known Disney restaurants. It's here! Visit Orlando's Magical Dining Month, which somehow defies all principles of the modern Gregorian calendar by running more than five weeks, begins Aug.

When combined with αPDL-1 mAb, ablative radiation is the most effective regimen for reducing tumor volume, inducing complete tumor resolution, and increasing survival rates. Data were analyzed by Tukey's Multiple Comparison Test and are presented as means ± SDs ns: non-significant (*: P < 0.05, **: P < 0.01, ***: P < 0.001). This chart was obtained using FlowJo 7.6.1 software. Histograms of IFNγ expression showing a shift to the right on the x-axis represent an increase in IFNγ expression on immune cells in the tumors ( C). The percentage of expressing of IFNγ + on immune cells in tumor are shown (A) in Ablative, Hypofraction and Conventional radiation and are shown in combining regimens of radiations with αPD-L1 (n = 3) (B). Tumors from mice treated with ablative RT express significantly more IFNγ than tumors from mice treated with hypofractionated or conventional RT, and when ablative treatment combine with αPDL-1 mAb, tumors express significantly more IFNγ than those from mice treated with other regimens. Data are presented as means ± SDs and analyzed by Tukey's Multiple Comparison Test (ns: non-significant*: P < 0.05, **: P < 0.01). Kidd said he first moved to Portland in 2007 at a time when it was a city ripe for “self-exploration and just doing your own thing.” Since then, and especially after the 2011 release of the IFC show Portlandia, which parodies the city’s idiosyncrasies, that spirit has been chipped away. To me, keeping Portland weird is about embracing individuality and celebrating the diversity of people in interests and activities that we have in the Rose City.” “And that’s part about what’s so great about it, is that it does appeal to very many people and very many ideals. When asked what Portland’s brand of weird is exactly, he said that’s up to the interpretation of each individual. And they’re soon to create a giant mural “that will be a centerpiece welcoming people to Portland and celebrating the weird and wacky things we love about the city.” In addition, the organization has launched its Weird Portland Hall of Fame, which honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the city’s culture of weird. How often does that happen? The island is relatively small, so every day has loads for you to see and get involved with once you get there, with a lot of great and diverse work by artists who not only aren’t crap but are actively excellent. This is the only event I’m involved in that isn’t free, but it’s cheap: £3.50 in advance or £5 on the door. With yet another daft costume I’ll be performing in the artists’ cabaret at the Royal Manor Theatre on the night of Thursday 11th September. I’ll be dressed like Donnie Darko, obviously. Trust me, you don’t want the little darlings freaking out in there. Teenagers are fine, but it’s not for young children because it’s dark, potentially a bit trip and bump hazard-y in and the whole thing might be a bit scary. If you’re coming, arrive nice and early because space is very limited. The city basically shut down, but the animals of Portland have done their best to keep it weird. I’ll be talking about Alice in Wonderland as one of the most influential fictions over more than a century, discussing the fine line between adorable and abominable, and asking why the hell bunnies so often wear bow ties but rarely wear shirts, among other things. There, you’ll get to enjoy the lush green landscapes of Mill Ends Park apparently the smallest park in the world. On Saturday the 6th, 13:30-14:30, you can come to my free talk and supercut of (mostly, probably) every major cinematic appearance of Oryctolagus cuniculus. Alternatively, if you don’t have the time to head out into the country, you can also set a course for the corner of SW Taylor St and the SW Naito Parkway on Portland’s waterfront. In addition to popping up randomly to give you great photo ops for your Facebook page or Twitter timeline (and/or scaring children and animals), if you really want to follow the white r***** then I’ll be at the Cove Inn on Saturday 12th and near the South Entrance of the Verne Citadel on the 13th. I’m hoping to collect from Portlanders as many stories, justifications, excuses and confabulations as they can think of regarding this prohibition and its continued relevance to the island. I’ll be recognisable throughout the two weeks mainly because I’ll be dressed as the animal whose name it is forbidden to mention on Portland. Ok, so it’s not a 454 monster V8 from El Caminos of yore, but it should get up and go with modern traffic, if you’d be brave enough to drive something this nice in modern traffic. The El Camino was based around a Chevrolet station wagon or sedan delivery and featured an integrated cab and bed, unlike a conventional pickup. Speaking of hauling, this is Chevy’s 305 cubic-inch V8 with 150 hp and 240 ft-lb of torque. Home / Cars for Sale / Chevrolet / El Camino / 1987 1987 Chevrolet El Caminos for Sale The Chevrolet El Camino was a car-based light truck that Chevrolet offered from 1959’1987. But, I guess that’s like thinking that the average SUV owner would actually take them off-road. Those seats look quite cushy, much more so than I would have imagined being in an El Camino, an vehicle that a person could theoretically haul things in the back of. The Conquista Edition was a trim package that included “an available special paint treatment molding package and special accent color.” That’s one of the most obscure trim package descriptions that I’ve ever heard! Chevy also offered a Black Knight and a Royal Knight SS edition. The interior appears to be “like new”, as they say in the car-selling business. And, does it look like it could have possibly been repainted? There may be some detailing left to do on this otherwise fantastic looking car. Is that a rust spot on the lower left and on the upper right by the tailgate? And, you can see a few dings back there, too. But, as you can see from that box/bed photo, all is not perfect with this El Camino. I love the rounded portion of the bed, that’s a great detail. With only 71,298 miles, this beautiful car is hardly broken in yet, and I would have expected to see even fewer miles than that on this beauty. It’s getting scary out there on the roads, folks. It can sit there while you decide whether to actually drive it on actual public roads with actual human drivers doing all sorts of actual stupid things behind the wheel instead of actually driving. With this one, it doesn’t look like you’ll have to do too much, other than get a roll of velvet to park it on in your heated and air-conditioned, humidity-controlled garage. He put at least as much into that car as he paid for it new. I knew a guy in my hometown that owned a motel on the shores of Lake Superior and he had a fifth-generation El Camino that he nut-and-bolt restored, and that was in the mid-1980s! It must have succumbed to the ravages of Minnesota rust from the salty roads, but it wasn’t even a decade old. This is a fly-in-and-drive-home sort of car. You can find it in beautiful Lakeland, Florida. This beauty is listed on eBay with, shall we say, spirited bidding, and the current bid price is over $8,000. This really is a mind-blowing car, it’s a 1987 Chevrolet El Camino Conquista Edition and whether you think it’s too new or too pedestrian or not a collector car or not a classic car, or not even a car since it’s an El Camino – this is one unbelievable car/truck/car-truck. I promise to limit my “time capsule” remarks to a minimum on this one. I also participate in a free site called Conversation Exchange, where people who know one language and are studying another converse through email or Skype with people who know the second language and are studying the first. In no special order, I a) put verbs, or vocabulary, or phrases into an Anki flashcard database and review them frequently (Anki is freeware, though it does accept donations) b) read simple newspaper websites, such as La Montagne, noting the words that I don't know, and writing them on a piece of paper taped to my bathroom wall c) go to one of the free language sites such as the BBCs Bitesize French d) browse a dictionary (just eight or ten words, picked at random) e) listen to a CD of simple French songs with lyrics, reading the lyrics as they sing. This (usually) keeps me from becoming bored with one of them. Again, I'm not saying this is the single magic piece of snake oil, but rather it's ONE more weapon that you can add to your armory. It's likely that none of these methods on their own will single-handedly be the key to learning vocab, but their combined effect is more likely to be.įinally on this subject, in case you have an iPhone or iPad, I will shamelessly plug my own French Vocab Games app available from the site. So you should think about a combined strategy: yes, get a vocab book such as the one we've mentioned, bu ALSO try to find a bit of time each day/week to read a web page in French about a topic you're interested in, maybe think about a vocab app/application, maybe buy or print yourself some vocab flash cards (this link is to a page on the site where you can print your own for free if you don't want to buy pre-made ones), try to listen to some French songs AND study the lyrics, watch some French films with subtitles and try to see what vocab you can pick out etc. What actual research tends to show is that in general, people need to have different experiences of vocabulary for it to really "sink in". In answer to the general question, I would say the main thing to take into account is that there's no magic piece of snake oil that is going to miraculously make you fluent in a few days (despite books that you can buy which claim to "teach yourself French in X days/weeks" etc.). It may not be so suitable if you just want to learn a few basic words e.g. If you're a relative beginner but looking to continue your studies for a couple of years, then it will be an excellent investment. The only thing is: to get the most out of this book, it's designed for relatively advanced students. When the chef stir-fried diced chicken, peanuts, and spicy peppers together and served it to Ding, he fell in love with the taste and requested it be made each time he had guests. An alternate version of the first story is that Ding had his chef cook up dishes according to his flavor preferences.Originally a home dish of the Ding family, guests loved it so much that the popularity spread. Using those ingredients, he created Kung Pao chicken. Ding Baozhen loved to cook and especially liked chicken, peanuts, and spicy peppers. As the most ardent fan of Kung Pao chicken, the dish was named after him. Ding liked it so much that he popularized it in Sichuan. While at the family’s home, they served him spicy diced chicken (aka Kung Pao chicken).
